Show 871 - Essential Albums

Air Date:

Thursday, 13 December 2018

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

This weekend in the Underground Garage we are celebrating 101 Essential Rock Records From the Golden Age of Vinyl..

We will be picking out ten of those fantastic vinyl albums that influenced everybody.

Joining us will be the Who, Cream, Moby Grape, the Byrds, the Jeff Beck Group, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and the Ramones.

It is a very cool show, and I will meet you there in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I’ll see you in the Underground Garage.

Nobody--as in NO body--has better taste or more musical acumen than Little Stevie.
And on a personal note, much gratitude to the King of Lilyhammer for his much anticipated, long-awaited show in Vegas this month. Can't express how great a night of R&B and soul it was or how much of a (much needed) shot in the arm it was...
Wishing you much peace & joy and righteous music in the year ahead. Rave on & not fade away!

I saw Steven and the Disciples in Anaheim recently and totally agree that he is a huge gift as a performer with his R&B and soul music but it was Under The Gun ( a rocker where soul singers were vocally subdued, with more sensual than funky dance moves) that I liked most. It is just a full- on awesome rocker of a song ..he needs to drop it in the Garage soon. I think it is a revamped version of a previous song, but it sounds fresh and honestly in the world of rock and roll better than anything I’ve heard in years from anyone!
Having said that, I dug Put a Nickel on the Tone Arm Baby this show by Palmyra D.- very fun.

Gna-gna-gna... Marlene got to see Steven in Ananheim... He didn't come to Montréal... He can't say because it's too cold, since he spent time in Norway... Under the Gun is From "Men without Women" (1982)...

Just joking with the gna-gna-gna... Hope you had a great time and got to take a selfie with him ! By the way, if you have Netflix, watch Christmas Chronicles if you haven't yet... You might have a surprise !

      Happy New Year !!!!

Happy New Year Steed! In more gna-gna-gna news-I just returned from the Palm Springs Film Fest 75degrees and sun, with lots of Canadian snowbirds..though I don't think they were the frenchy ones. 2 documentaries worth seeing if you like heart and soul on film: Home and Away and Bathtubs over Broadway.
I don't have Netflix no more..my entertainment center sucks air...a radio, a phone and a credit card. I heard Christmas Chronicles had Stevie and will hopefully check it out. Here's to fun in 2019!
