Show 847 - Jack Nitzsche

Air Date:

Wednesday, 27 June 2018

Hey baby, Little Steven here with our Underground Garage weekly pop quiz.

You can probably name some songwriters. You can maybe name some record producers. But can you name the coolest Rock ‘n Roll arranger that ever lived?

No...No...No...Yes! That’s right, it’s Jack Nitzsche, and we are celebrating him this weekend in the Underground Garage.

And coming to the party will be Elvis Costello, the Rolling Stones, the Monkees, and Mink DeVille.

It’s a two hour Rock ‘n Roll dance party celebrating the coolest arranger in Rock n’ Roll history, Jack Nitzsche, this weekend in the Underground Garage.

5 cools , plus one local one. Needles and Pins (Searchers), Shrinking Man (Ry Cooder)the coolest, Foolish Stuff (Kurt Baker Combo)also the cool cool one, Four Riders (Alan Gerber) sweet, and the local band from Halifax is the plus = Spin Our Wheels (Sloan) hard to think they have been a band for almost 30 yrs, time goes by & River Deep Mountain High (Tina Turner). Thanks Stevie, Keep on Rockin. Another up and coming Band in Halifax is Stand Back, their first album blows my mind, check it out people. The drummer Aiden is with my daughter and I have seen the live gigs and I love the sound and presentation.
