Show 833 - The Week That Was

Air Date:

Tuesday, 20 March 2018

Hey baby, Little Steven here, and this week in the Underground Garage we are celebrating all kinds of Rock n’ Roll events, including the very first Rock n’ Roll show ever, and the very first Rock n’ Roll hit song as the theme of a movie ever.
How did the kids react to that?
Oh, very calmly. They just ripped the seats out of the theater when they heard it.
That’s right, and joining us for the party will be Chuck Berry, the MC5, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, the Beatles, the Stones, and Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.
Come find out what Riff, Action, A-Rab, Ice, Baby John, and Anybodys have in common.
It’s the teenage rampage and the birth of Rock n’ Roll this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.
I will see you in the blackboard jungle, also know as the Underground Garage.

Hi, how can I get the podcast please? Rock on, Ian

    • Steed Colliss

There is no official podcast. There is the app which has the first two shows and shows 600 and up. The Barcelona site rockfm.fm does have a podcast of the show, which has the overall show with intros and outros of each set, minus the opening theme (screaming lady) and includes spanish commentary. However, it is not regular. Shows can be skipped.

5 cool ones, plus one. Funky Street (Arthur Conley) always funky, I’m A Rocker (Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band) yeah that's what were talkin about, Rock Around The Clock (Bill Haley & the Comets) one of the first, plus -- 4 Real (Prima Donna) feels real real, Epistle To Dippy (Donovan) timeless & See My Friends (Kinks) unrated band, too cool. Thanks Stevie, Keep on Rockin.

Love that Pandora's Tune. I heard it on the Sirius channel last week and was very happy to find it included in this show. Time to find the vinyl.
