Show 832 - On The Road

Air Date:

Monday, 12 March 2018

Hey baby, Little Steven here, and this week in the Underground Garage we are celebrating Jack Kerouac, the man who changed the world.
Celebrating with us will be the J. Geils Band, the Soncis, the Beatles, Moby Grape, and Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels.
Come discover what Taj Mahal, Dee Dee Sharp, and Handsome Dick Manitoba have in common.
It’s the man who wrote the book who changed the world.
This weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.
I’ll see you in the Underground Garage!

In regards to the Batman episodes: The TV show's theme song was so good, that Jimi included part of it in that song...

Started to read Kerouac's "Maggie Cassidy"... Even though it's a fiction, it's still based on Kerouac's youth, hence the character's name Jacky "Zagg" Duluoz and mention of his dead brother Gérard. He's even called Ti-Jean. Being French Canadian myself, it's fun to read expressions such as "gange de baza", "on va y'allez", "Aayoo Madame Bélanger a tu ton wash finished ?", "And you played with your little gidigne ?" and others...
