Show 731 - Cultural Significance

Air Date:

Monday, 04 April 2016

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

Are you ready for some cultural significance this weekend in the Underground Garage?

Well come down anyway.

Joining the party will be Cream, Buffalo Springfield, Procol Harum, the Rolling Stones, the Ramones, and the Temptations.

Come find out what Ravi Shankar, Arthur Lee, and Bill Wyman have in common.

It is our version of cultural significance in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Cool update... Both Ramones' "Cretin Hop" and Cake's "Baby that's Me" made it to the most played song on the show... Surprising for Cake because it only started being played on show 303... Another song that started late on rotation in the garage is the Cinderellas' "Please don't Wake Me" (show 384...

I really like Green Machines song Girl Like You and will be buying it. So far I have bought Iggy Pop's Gardenia and Gary Tallent's Charlene. Love these songs. I sample first and then may go back and buy more of the artist's music. So wonderful to find a place to hear new and old music I have never heard before. Or haven't heard in a while or have never heard played on any radio station before. I listen in the car on the way to work and then back home.

LS indicates Donovan "Mellow Yellow" in set 4 after the Stones but it's not there. Must be talk out from a previous show. Too bad, I love that song and the story which goes with it about "E-lec-trica Banana"
