Show 639 - Rocky and Bullwinkle

Air Date:

Monday, 30 June 2014

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

This week in the Underground Garage we take a trip to Moosylvania.

That’s right, we are celebrating one of the coolest cartoons shows of all time Rocky & Bullwinkle.

And people wonder why my generation has arrested development?

We are gong to explore their infinite coolest with the Electric Prunes, Lords Of the New Church, the Small Faces, the Rascals, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Yardbirds, and the Nazz.

It’s a flying squirrel, a moose, and a Rock n’ Roll dance party this weekend in the Underground Garage.

This is making me so happy! Rocky & Bullwinkle are right up there among the biggest formative influences on my demented sense of humor (along with the Marx Brothers, Bob & Ray, Ernie Kovacs, Spike Jones, Sid Caesar, Mad Magazine, etc.).

Mr Little Steven, there are some Soupy Sales videos available, try www.audiofidelity.net. Also, "There's two words to get out of here, Rocky What, Bullwinkle? Es Cape."

  • Carol Dobson

Rocky and Bullwinkle, like Soupy Sales, is really comedy for adults. The double meanings and satire made my father laugh out loud -- no easy task. I laughed at the kiddie side of the humor. Jay Ward and his merry pranksters were brilliant.

This is making me have a very happy day!!!

    Cool set 4...

... but still no "Run Now Baby" by Palmyra Delran and Bubble Gun as Coolest Song in the World...

I so remember watching Rocky and Bullwinkle before school,in the dark,at the babysitters. It was a great way to start the day. I wish it was still on the air.
I now live in the "Frostbite Falls" area and love it.

I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle all the time as a kid. And all that time paid off recently at a local pub trivia night when two questions were 'Bullwinkle's home town' and 'the name of Dudley Do-Right's horse'.
Steven, as always, such a great show. Chrissie Hynde, The Dahlmanns, Nazz, The Hollies, Donovan, Dollyrots, The Rascals.
    You're the best!

Rocky and Bullwinkle, truly immortal. This was the most fun show I've listened to in a long time.
