Show 599 - Ready To Snap

Air Date:

Tuesday, 24 September 2013

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

Have you just about had it?

I mean are you just sick of everything?

Are you tired of hearing these stupid politicians talk?

Tune in this week to the Underground Garage where we don’t care about such things. We are too busy rocking and rolling and having a good time.

Joining us will be Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, the Yardbirds, Donovan, Johnny Rivers, Solomon Burke, the Chiffons, the Who, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Tommy James & the Shondells.

We have brand new music from Charles Bradley and the Menahan Street Band, Radio Days, King Kahn and the Shrines, and Jake Clemons.

We are calling the show Ready To Snap, and I will see you this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio, the Underground Garage.

Great show again... Here's something I found out yesterday: in the section of shows 100-199, the shows from 150 to 179 included are all missing... However, if you search (you know, that little thing with the magnifying glass) with the show number, the show will appear... Some still do not have a juke box, but the shows are there... Now, if it would work with the first hundred shows, it would be awesome... I still fell like listening to the show "Barbarella in Boston"...

Thanks for the tip on finding those missing shows. Agreed would be nice to hear the first 100! This show gets me through the work day.

I absolutely loved your whole spiel at the beginning of the show! I would love a transcript of it.

I have transcribed a portion of it and used it as my Facebook status, with due credit to Mr. Steven Van Zandt. I hope that's OK.

    Yes, Man From UNCLE!
Funny bit, Vaughn and McCallum were considered too old to be the leads in "The Return of The Man From Uncle", 15 years after the original. So they were a little over 40 at the time. But until the most recent proposed remake, Clooney and Cruise were supposed to star, both of whom are older than Vaughn and McCallum in Return.

I LOVE Joan Jett! I just re-discovered her recently. And Blackheart Records is a very cool label with some awesome newer talent like Nina Diaz and her band "Girl In A Coma". Highly recommended.

By the way, is that a Rat Fink?

Great show as always, Steven. Amazing how seductive Joan Jett sounds with the Blackhearts on "The French Song." Didn't realize Jake Clemons had his own recording career going. I'll have to look into that.

I have not heard anything after this show! Please do not tell me it is gone!
