Show 596- That Love Disease Part 6: The Big Payback: Revenge!

Air Date:

Wednesday, 04 September 2013

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

This weekend in the Underground Garage we have the sixth installment of the seven stages of love.

It’s all about revenge and we are calling it The Big Payback, and yes James Brown will be there.

Joining him will be the Byrds, the Who, the Grass Roots, the Syndicate of Sound, the Hollies, the Castaways, and the Ramones.

We have brand new music from Radio Days, the Bayonets, the Launderettes, the Connection, and Soraia.

Come find out what Sandi Shore, Little Walter, and Sam Kinison have in common.

It’s Revenge!, this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I’ll see you in the Underground Garage.

    Congratulations (Rolling Stones)
    Manic Depression (Jimi Hendrix Experience)

I'm hearing Sam Kinison, so sound like it's fixed. Thanks!

      • Steed Colliss

Indeed, it's been corrected... Just listened to it... Mr Administrator, you can please delete this post and the previous one as they are no longer relevant...

        • Robert P Smarse Jr.

Hey Steed! Way to go! But The Administrator NEVER deletes these posts. You're right on top, though. Please remember to do your star ratings. Very Important. I shall be late this week with my posts as I am in the middle of shipping and moving 500 Beatle L.P.'s to Spain. 150 are boots. They love Beatle vinyl in Spain, especially the Boots! Peace! SMRZ!!

          • Steed Colliss

I do the star rating at every show I listen... There are only 109 shows I haven't listened to, some in the first hundred that are not on this new version of the website, some in the 150 to 180 which are not there yet as well... Also, all those in which the playlist is missing... I'll do those eventually, probably keeping track of the songs and posting the playlist...

Have fun with the shipping... At least keep a couple for yourself... Or remember Tommy Lee Jones' character's line in the first Men in Black movie: "I guess I'll have to buy the White Album again!"

Good week-end and read you next week...

  • Paul Mosher

Would you please put the info back in for the music beds? I love surf and I've picked up a lot of surf tunes from this show - and I'd like to continue (also, I'm sure that Dick Dale, Duane Eddy, and Danny Amis would like the continued recognition).

    • Robert P Smarse Jr.

The Musical Beds will be back starting with Show # 598. In other words, after the shows on That Love Disease are done, which they are now. Show # 598, That Love Disease:Pt. 7, REBIRTH will be the last without the Musical Beds. They have been playing but as you noted NOT LISTED! Have no fear, show # 598 will include them listed again. Peace! SMRZ!!

  • scottyd

Couldn't agree more with Paul Mosher, please go back to including the music bed info, as most Underground Garage fans suffer from another disease other than the love strain, we are neurotic, info-seeking completists.

    • Robert P Smarse Jr.

Please don't forget your Star Ratings! Steed & myself are the only ones so far that rated this excellent shows. So, to be fair, it works BOTH ways. If you are neurotic, info-taking completists like myself, STAR RATINGS are MANDATORY! PEACE. SMRZ!

  • Mooko Marx

I really wish I could buy all the Lost Boys stuff. Any chance of a release ever?

  • Ron Lynch

Very cool show indeed. Crosstown Traffic (Jimi Hendrix Experience), Most Likely You'll Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine (Bob Dylan), Whatcha Got? (Bayonets), Killing Floor (Electric Flag), Pay You Back With Interest (Hollies), Girls In This Town (Connection), Boom Boom (Little Walter), Lies (Knickerbockers). Lots of cool ones here, like the opening to set 2, nice. Good to hear Bob talk on the show, a cool cat.
    Thanks Stevie, Keep on Rockin.

  • Karl Hungus

Amazing show once again. This is the only radio show I can get excited about week after week! Never a dull moment in the garage.

  • Jerry Sherman

If 'Love and Fun' doesn't bow in the direction of Steve Miller's 'Space Cowboy,' it's being disingenuous.

  • Jerry Sherman

But as Little Steven often says, you're only as good as who you steal from!

  • markalbertsad

could the best part of love be revenge this was a revealing show

  • Chris Dougherty

It's great to hear something from the Grass Roots other than "Midnight Confessions" and Southside Johnny's "Coming Back" is close to the best song they ever did. Great show, Steven.
