Air Date:

Monday, 27 February 2012

Yeah baby, Little Steven here.

We are going to go walking through my dreams this weekend in the Underground Garage with a psychedelic overview of Brian Jones, Emile Berliner, William Maxwell Gaines, and Roger Daltrey.

Joining us will be David Bowie, Blondie, Vanilla Fudge, the Troggs, the Raspberries, and the Electric Prunes.

Come find out what Nancy Sinatra, Leonard Nimoy, and Sylvain Sylvain have in common.

They are all walking through me dreams this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

    Long live this show!

  • Robert P Smarse Jr.

Wow!! Talk about an acid flashback! Is it really 1967 again or is it the drugs? Thank You once again, Little Steven, for yet another 5 star classic. Starting off with the late great Brian Jones who, as you said, founded the Stones. I will always love those 1st 6 Stones albums. Great slide by Brian who was heavily influenced by Muddy. Walking Through My Dreams by The Pretty Things followed by Brian's Your Eyes Are Like A Cup Of Tea-absolutely fabulous way to kick things off as the drugs begin to kick in. I'll never forget Brian playing Sitar on The Ed Sullivan Show from Sep. 11, 1966 with Paint It, Black. I think Brian was peeking right about then, or so it seemed. So So Bad to have it end the way it did for Brian with Thoroughgood pushing and holding him back into the water in the pool. Great new tunes by The Trolley, Boo, and The Black Keys who only get better. Out Of Our Tree by The Wailers, Psychedelic Shotgun by Vanilla Fudge, and Good Vibrations by The Troggs continue the drug induced vibrations. William Maxwell Gaines!! What would I have done without my Mad Magazines? Did you know that Gaines has been operating on a reduced work schedule since his death in 1992? What..Me Worry? Although Mad Mag has never won the coveted Pulitzer Prize, its writers continue to use very many of the same words as the award-winning authors! Absolutely Bonkers over the 5th set which was more than Slightly Psychedelic!! Armenia City In The Sky by The Who from My favorite Who Album which was 1967's The Who Sell Out. Be sure to pick up the 2-cd Deluxe Edition of this Classic. I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night by The Electric Prunes used to be my mantra. Great to hear my favorite song of the year from 2011 with Woodstock Daze by the great Eddie Phillips from The Creation. Let's leave it to Leonard Nimoy to lead us to Where It' At. Thanks again,LS, for another great show. We're Getting The Band Back Together!! Anybody got any valium or something to help get me down from the ceiling? EEYAHH!! SMRZ!!!

Robert, sooner or later, they WILL hire U to be the Web director of this site, your commments R right on the $$$$$! Still waiting for Show # 518. In the early stages of the show, a female named Holly (I'm pretty sure that is her name)used to run the site and the new shows would be on by Tues or Wed of the same week, now,it's like 8 to 12 days later to get the show in the archives.

Hi, Greggie . . . big dittoes to your comment that Robert *should* have some official role, here, if he's savvy enough to handle the code, as he obviously knows and loves the music the way it *should* be known and loved ! I'm also " a little knowledgeable", largely because I, too, am a veteran of the show from almost the very beginning. Incidentally, I believe the gal's name, in-full, was Holly Cara Price, and you are correct that they used to be *much* better about keeping the site current. I'm kinda pissed that they want to shove so much of the discussion and news about the show off onto the social-networking sites, and now they don't even have the "upcoming" show listed over there (the used to have it on the FB page, until very recently). I don't do social-media, myself, and I wonder "What'd be wrong with having all the discussion and commentary about the show on its *own* site?" Y'know, if one of you guys becomes webmaster, here, another thing about the comments is that it should have a functionality that notifies you when someone has replied to a comment of yours. Hey, they've got all of our e-mail addresses, and notifying us in this way would help to build site-traffic. Cheers! --- Steve

sdingeswho, U even rememberd Holly's last name, impresive man! I agree with every thing U said.

  • jim forsyth

What happened to Brian Jones in this show? By the time we went to the second set, he was long gone. Perhaps a bit more on those who influenced him, as well as his influence on the Stones. See you in Atlanta baby...

THE ROLLING STONES ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITES ROCK AND ROLL BANDS SECOND TO THE BEATLES. Does anybody know if the Rolling Stones paid Mick Taylor his due music royalties?

GREAT SHOW LITTLE STEVEN AKA THE BIG GUY. LITTLE STEVEN you should hire Robert P Smarse Jr., the man knows his things about music.

Gerald, they have been coming on a little bit later than usual, it takes about 10 to 12 days to get the show in the archives, I wish they could speed things up a bit.
