Show 332 - BO DIDDLEY

Air Date:

Monday, 11 August 2008

Hey baby, Little Steven here, join us this weekend in the Underground Garage for a tribute to Bo Diddley.

We will be joined by DIon as he reminisces about the early days of Rock ‘n Roll, that they were inventing as they went along.

Joining us will be the Yardbirds, the Pretty Things, and Aerosmith.

Brand new records from the Gurus, the Chevelles, the Bleeding Hearts, the Skybombers, and the Night Marchers.

We’ll talk about how much impact Bo Diddley had - even on the early pioneers themselves - as well as his lasting contribution to the great history of Rock ‘n Roll.

Join us this weekend for our Rock ‘n Roll dance party tribute to Bo Diddley, exclusively, right here, in the Underground Garage.

In Set 3, the Animals' "Story of Bo Diddley" is not played...

I saw Bo Diddley in Puistoblues (="Blues in the park") 1991 in Järvenpaa, Finland. He was in stunning shape and what a great show he gave us! A lot of people were waiting for John Lee Hooker, who was performing next, just after Mr. Diddley, but to me The Diddley daddy stole the whole show! (And Mr. Hooker wasn´t bad either!)
