Show 498 - Jailhouse Rock 2011

Air Date:

Tuesday, 18 October 2011

Well winter is creeping in.

So what are you doing this weekend?

Drive in is out. Forget about the beach.

I know, let’s go to prison.

We’re celebrating Jailhouse Rock, Elvis Presley’s coolest movie.

Joining us will be the Tremeloes, the Fleshtones, the Sex Pistols, the Byrds, and the Dave Clark 5.

Brand new music from Butch Walker & the Black Widows, Spanking Charlene, Christian McNeil and the Seamonsters, JP Soars, and Baby Woodrose.

There is only one place to find out what Johnny Rotten, Wilson Pickett, and Serge Gainsbourg have in common.

We are calling it Jailhouse Rock, and it is exclusively, on this, the coolest radio station in town.

I will see you this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio, in solitary, in the Underground Garage.

Beck's Group JailHouse Rock - cool. The horns in Zero give it some cool soul.
Harley Davidson Brigitte Bardot, never heard that one before, but checked out the old video. The bikes & Brigitte
    look good.
Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine - a very rockin one.

The coolest part for me was hearing about the Jailhouse Rock script being giving the ok without reading it first. Especially The Colonel not giving two whips about it .Hearing the sound bite afterwards with the part from the movie about the money split terms was hilarious .That was sooooo cool.

Great to hear Brigitte Bardot on the show... There should be more french songs from time to time... There's a great garage scene in Québec... Just get in touch with me somehow for examples... Arcade Fire did a wonderful cover of "Poupée de cire, poupé de son"...
