Show 453 - THE BIG SLEEP 2010

Air Date:

Tuesday, 07 December 2010

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

It’s time to prepare for winter so this week in the Underground Garage we are celebrating sleep.

Joining us will be Cheap Trick, the Raspberries, the Nazz, Traffic, Blondie, and the Pretty Things.

Brand new music from the Woggles, the Satelliters, Superchunk, and Palmyra Delran.

Come find out what Phillip Marlowe, Mamie Van Doren, and Louis Prima have in common, and it has something to do with a five-neck guitar.

I’ll see you this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I’ll see you in the Underground Garage.

Thank U Little Stevie, for another excellent 5 star sone cold classic show. Love The Big Sleep-Winter Solstice show!! Love that Endless Sleep by Jody Reynolds, I Had Too Much To Dream by The Electric Prunes, 35MM Dreams by the great Garland J., Sleepwalk by Santo And Johnny, Child Of The Moon by The Stones, which we never hear anywhere else but in the Garage, and I'm Only Sleeping by the Beatles. Love your whole concept of The Big Sleep in relation to our bodies and minds. Also, the great story of the great Noir flick The Big Sleep(1946), where Raymond Chandler himself has no idea who killed the chaffeur, is classic! No Big Sleep show this year ssso thank Goodness for your excellent archives which further reinforces your theme of no chronological time in The Underground Garage!! EEYAHH!! SMRZ!!!

In set 1, the Greenhornes' "Saying Goodbye" is not played, and the same in set 2 with the Sails' "I'm Only Bleeding"...
