Show 418 - PETER WOLF!

Air Date:

Monday, 05 April 2010

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

We have a very special show this weekend in the Underground Garage.

It is our 8th anniversary.

That’s right, show number 418, if you are keeping score, and our very special guest is going to be Peter Wolf. One of the greatest front men of all time, from one of the most exciting live bands of all time, the J. Geils Band, and the cat who has had the most interesting life of anybody I know.

We will get as much of it in the show as we can cram, and helping us will be the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Brand new music from Jesse Malin and the Saint Marks Social, Locksley, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes, the Contrast, and Cheap Trick.

Come find out what Janis Joplin, Howlin’ Wolf, and Mink Deville have in common, and get to know the very very very fascinating, and very cool Peter Wolf in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party.

I will see you this weekend for our 8th anniversary blow out in the Underground Garage.

Y'know, I can't believe you did a whole show dedicated to The J. Geils Band's frontman, and yet did not include the band's most famous (and, I think, their best) song --- what? No "Musta Got Lost"? I didn't think Wolf, alone, deserved a whole show, but I must say that I *did* take a shine to "I Don't Wanna Know" :-) .

    The Playlist is listed twice...

In set 2, Cheap Trick's "Times of Our Lives" is listed but not played, though it is listed and played in set 5, but attributed to the Contrast...

Also, in set 5, The Kinks' "It's Alright" is listed but not played...
