    Steven,

After hearing your comments about Darlene Love, you reminded me of something. There’s no shortage of Ramones music on UG. The Ramones were spawned in early 70's NYC, of which, the epicenter was Max’s Kansas City; ruled by the Dolls. One of the other bands that frequently played at Max’s was Another Pretty Face. They had a huge following, larger than the Dolls, mainly in New Jersey. They supposedly cut a single of one of their most popular songs, Da Do Run Run. T.Roth never changed the gender of the lyrics, making it blatantly gay, which may be why it was never released. I found it on CD, 21st Century Rock, which was probably delayed in release for the same reason. I heard it was mainly because Roth refused to remove one song from the LP, Little Boys, which was their most popular song. They also did Be My Baby, and Roth regularly paid homage to Phil Spector.

Don’t misunderstand, I love hearing the music of the Dolls, Blondie, Robert Gordon, Cherrie Vanilla, Wayne County, etc. on UG, but I have never heard one APF cut. The band broke -up, then T. Roth formed a new band in the late 70's which include drummer, Tico Torres, prior to his current gig. They cut an album which included a couple on songs from the original band.

I apologize if I am saying something you already know. You MUST have been to Max’s.
