Show 763 - Barry, Greenwich, & Dixon

Air Date:

Monday, 14 November 2016

Hey baby, Little Steven here with our weekly Underground Garage pop quiz.

Who are the coolest Rock n’ Roll songwriters that have ever lived?

No, not the ones that were artists themselves like the Beatles and the Stones, but those invisible people behind the scenes that continue to write the soundtracks of our lives.

Tune in this week to the Underground Garage where we are celebrating five different sets of writers.

Joining us will be Blues Magoos, Johnny Rivers, Muddy Waters, the Stones, and the Beatles.

It’s radio land’s only dance party with go-go girls.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Was watching "Nine Lives" with Kevin Spacey last night with my son... The song "Three Cool Cats" played... At the crédits, I saw it was a Leiber & Stoller song... Told my kid, "You know, the same guys who wrote "Jailhouse Rock" from the intro of the show some weeks ago ?"... And he went "Oh, yeah !"...

Very cool mention of the Ealing Club West London ,SVZ called it the Ealing Jazz Club, seeing Paul Jones there in Feb'17 one of the original singers with Brian Jones & Alexis Korner before Mick & Keith walked in...
