This is a more complete show than what the LSUG podcast from rockfm.fm played...

Nice tribute to Prince... It's hard to make a connection between the artist and garage rock, but here it is: Buffalo's the Goo Goo Dolls covered the song on their 1990 "Hold Me Up" album (Two albums and five years before "A Boy Named Goo")... It was sung by the late "Incredible" Lance Diamond... By the way, another cover from the same album was "A Million Miles Away" originally from the Plimsouls which also got played in the garage... The Goo Goo Dolls singer guitar player would also sing "For your Love" on the "Birdland" album from the Yardbirds...

    Very Cool Show...

Just checked out Lance with the Goos- he was incredible...song was *itch with strong lead guitars and then a horn section and he had no prob singing over them, with style.

Hey Marlene !!! Finally checked out that 1993 video !!! Indeed it's great... Back in the time before the Goo's were famous and before Rzeznick was covered in tattoos (and Drummer George Tutuska was still in the band)... I transfered the video to MP3 and downloaded it...

"Let me pretend I'm a rock and roll star for a moment...
Like Brian Jones was, and Ziggy Stardust..."
