Show 726 - San Francisco

Air Date:

Monday, 29 February 2016

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

Join us this weekend for our tribute to the great town of San Francisco.

Joining us will be the Jefferson Airplane, Sly & the Family Stone, Santana, and the Flaming Groovies.

There is nowhere on the internet that you will find out what Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Doris Day, and Big Pussy Bonpensiero have in common.

You must come to the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio to find that out.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

I was working in a supermarket in 1969 when I found three albums in a bag in a shopping cart I was bringing back into the store. They were Moby Grape's first Album, Skip Spence's album "Oar" and "Super Session". Your first selection "Omaha" reminded me of how it was to hear that song for the first time. Every day I play one of the archived shows at work. The best stuff ever!
