Show 712 - Thanksgiving

Air Date:

Monday, 23 November 2015

Hey baby, Little Steven here. Who is the only country in the world full of fat people?

That’s right baby, you’re looking at it, and we’re about to get fatter because it’s Thanksgiving this week.

We are celebrating no matter how many steroids we eat in them turkeys, or diabetics we create with all them carbs.

We’re partying baby, with Little Eva, the Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, Rufus Thomas, the Byrds of course, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Traffic, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Come find out what Sarah Josepha Hale, Rufus Thomas, and Charlie Brown have in common.

It’s our lean mean dancing machine called the Underground Garage. I’ll see you this weekend.

Cool Cooles Song in the World... Though I prefer its "flip side" (Pop Goes the World), originally from Montréal's Men Without Hats...

A pleasure to hear the new Zombies song in the last couple of Underground Garage shows. I had the great pleasure to hear them perform "Moving On" live in the current tour and immediately bought the CD. I thought it would be the only way I'd ever hear the song again. So pleased to be proven wrong. Thanks Steven!

About the Zombies... The younger brother of a co-worker is the frontman of a band called "Les Revenants", a Québec country/rockabilly/instrumental band (Couldbe compared to Toronto's the Sadies)...

Some time ago in Montréal, they opened for the Zombies... After the show, one of the members of the Zombies was talking to frontman Jimmy and asked him about the band's name (Revenants)... Jimmy was embarrassed... He went: "well, it's sort of like your name, the Zombies, but in French, "revenant" meaning "someone broughtr back to life"...
