Show 685 - The Who

Air Date:

Wednesday, 20 May 2015

Hey baby, Little Steven here, and this weekend we are celebrating the Who.

To help us we are bringing the Kinks, the Ramones, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Les Fleur De Lys, and the Jam.

Find out where Sonny Boy Williamson was in 1951.

It’s all happening this weekend in the world’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Great show paying tribute to The Who! Just saw them in Nashville last week. The Pete Townsend was on fire at 70!

Seeing 'The Kids Are Alright' back in the '80's changed my life forever and instantly turned The Who into my personal bench mark for all things that rock....
Oh yea, and The Sonics kick ass too!

Cool show... Is it possible that some parts of "No Time Like Never" sound like the intro song of the movie "Revenge of the Nerds" ? Am I too far off the deep end ?

Not sure about "Revenge" likeness, I'll have to look into that....as for the "deep end", I was kinda assuming that was our groups goal - you're just farther along! With "No Time" I definitely hear The Donnas (Take It Off and others) but Palmyra is smoother, and wiser...

7 Cool ones this week. My Generation (Who) This song just is the Who. I Don’t Need No Doctor (Sonics) One wicked song like it. Rain (Beatles), Barbara Ann (Beach Boys) One their best, Some Enchanted Evening (Bob Dylan) relaxes me what can I say, there will never be another like Bob. Summertime Blues (Eddie Cochran) very cool and remember it from my childhood. I Can See For Miles (Who) Another awesome Who song. Gotta go on the road Tues/Wed/Thurs up to old Cape Breton, maybe do some guitar rockin at night. Thanks Stevie Keep on Rockin.
