Show 676 - Lieber and Stoller

Air Date:

Monday, 16 March 2015

Hey baby, Little Steven here, and we are celebrating with our songwriters series.

Featuring Leiber and Stoller, the amazing Bert Berns, and the incredible Jackie DeShannon.

Joining us will be the Rolling Stones, the Byrds, the Beatles, the Ramones, the Searchers, Elvis Presley, and Solomon Burke.

And like always, the coolest new songs in the world.

It’s the coolest Rock n’ Roll songwriters in the world, on radio’s only Rock n’ Roll dance party.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Great show, Steven. It's so important the influence of the songwriters on what we've listened to for all these years. Lieber and Stoller were geniuses who made the trip so much easier on the radio as was Jackie DeShannon. Yes, you should have more shows about the writers, we need that for sure.

Every time I hear "Stuck In The Middle With You", I keep thinking it's George Harrison and here it's Stealer's Wheel and Gerry Rafferty singing!
