Show 660 - Lilyhammer Season 3

Air Date:

Tuesday, 25 November 2014

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

Join us this week in the Underground Garage for our third annual celebration of Lilyhammer.

The first or second greatest show on television, depending if you are Norwegian or not.

We will be playing songs we used from the eight episodes this season.

Everybody from the Electric Prunes, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Muddy Waters, Rhinoceros , Procol Harum, and the Who.

Come find out what Johnny Thunders, Evie Sands, and Turbonegro have in common.

Come celebrate at the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

If you can’t make it into the Flamingo Club, you are always welcome in the Underground Garage.

    Great set, Stevie.
And as a wise counselor once opined, there are 2 businesses that ALWAYS do well..."certain aspects of show business, and 'our thing'."
    Bada bing.
    Rock on, brother man.

Thanks Stevie for playing Otis Redding's "Cigarettes & Coffee" a criminally underplayed Otis classic I'd forgotten how beautiful that song is.

ERRATA: "To the Mountains", "Cigarettes And Coffee", "Baby It's You", and "Age Of Pamparius" did NOT get played during this program. Also, the name of the Freddie Scott song is "No One Could Ever Love You".

Good show... Am now only at episode three, but still going... Fun to hear Warren Zevon outside of Californication... Also, cool reference to the Sopranos in episode one: "It's all a dream, Silvio..." from the old man in the room Johnny is sharing at the hospital...

Please note that in the playlist, Johnny Thunders' "Born to Lose" is listed in sets two and four, while actually played in set 4...

Good show. Pity I don't have access to NetFlix for Lillyhammer. Jeff Beck's version of Morning Dew is one I have never heard.
