Show 647 - Film Noir

Air Date:

Monday, 25 August 2014

The name is Spade…Sam Spade.

I’m a private dick on a case.

The case is finding Little Steven before this week’s Underground Garage tribute to Film Noir.

Joining him, if we can find him, will be the Who, Paul Revere & the Raiders, the Vanilla Fudge, always liked fudge, the Kinks, and the Yardbirds.

Come join the party and we will see who survives the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio.

I get 25 bucks a day and expense. I’m a private dick on a case.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Great to hear Fools' Gold by Graham Parker. Terrific band from the '70's and '80's.

I couldn’t make it through the whole show without leaving a comment. It’s been a while since I heard Vanilla Fudge. Carmine Appice is one of the greatest drummers ever and if you listen to “You Keep Me Hanging On” it is incredible to have the drumming be such an integral part of the song!, and I love hearing new great songs for the first time, and I love The Black Keys, and the New York Dolls. Its great hearing “Who Are The Mystery Girls” for the first time in a long, long time. I don’t usually make comments on hear, mostly because of that Robert Smarz Jr guy. He just knows way too much! That is a good thing and I miss his comments, I hope he is doing OK. Anyway Little Steven, I’m not up to doing a Robert Smarz comment, but This is a 5 star show, and I am doing my best to catch up on my show listening. Love the show, still listening, great song, Kinks, “See My Friends”. You might see more comments from me in the future.

Wow I love Moby Grape but never heard "Murder In My Heart for the Judge”. What a great song! The bass line is incredible, and the lead is just very cool! I can't believe in my 52 years I never heard this song! Shame on you public radio. Dont get me wrong I grew up on radio, and started listening to 93KHJ in the early seventies with Wolfman Jack, and Machine Gun Kelly etc. The first time I heard the song I am hearing write now “Smile on Me” was on the Underground Garage! Jeff Becks tone is just amazing, and a great song to finish with. So I had to put in two comments to this show. So What! I still don’t compare to that Robert guy, I didn’t lie. I told you that you might hear from me again. I just didn’t think it would be this soon. If my wife catches me doing all this typing, she is going tell me I am out of my mind. Anyway if she doesn’t wake up late on a Friday, or a Saturday night everything will be all right! Luv u Little Steven!
