Show 623 - San Francisco!

Air Date:

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

Hey baby, Little Steven here.

Join us this weekend for our tribute to the great town of San Francisco.

Joining us will be the Jefferson Airplane, Sly & the Family Stone, Santana, and the Flaming Groovies.

There is nowhere on the internet that you will find out what Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Doris Day, and Big Pussy Bonpensiero have in common.

You must come to the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio to find that out.

I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

    Hey Stevie,
Sharon in Nashville here. Shame on you for leaving out 'It's A Beautiful Day,' and 'White Bird!'
We are officially not talking. ;)

Great show as usual... The only thing missing is a sound clip from "Bullitt"... Mainly from the exchange between Bullitt and Eddie right before the car chase...

Can't stop listening to Kelley Stoltz's "Are You my Love ?"... I know we're only in March, but so far, he gets my Coolest Song of the Year vote...

Lived a very short time in '76 in the Tenderloin. Love was long over. Watched at Ye Rose and Thistle a long hair girl slip on a right hand leather glove before she played foosball at the night matches.

About The Weekend (Jellybricks), Summertime Blues (Blues Cheer), Everybody’s Everything (Santana), I Know Where The Sunshines (Suzi Chunk with Groovy Uncle) & The War To Fight For Love (BP Fallon & the Bandits) 5 very cool ones. Yeah, Steed the Bullitt stuff would have been cool. One of my favorite movies with Steve McQueen, it made me buy a Bullitt. Thanks Stevie Keep on Rockin.

Great show, love the Kerouac interlude, the promo for the 1968 film "Psych-Out" and the Depp/Thompson Loathing snippet. Mucho congrats LilSteven on getting though a dedication to SF without mentioning the term "hippie" - ha
