Hey baby, Little Steven here, and this week in the Underground Garage we are going TV A Go-Go!

Joining us will be the Byrds, the Beatles, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, the Troggs, the Ramones, the Angels, and the Tuff Darts.

Brand new music from Michael Des Barres, Charles Bradley & the Menahan Street Band, Suzi Chunk, Joe Walsh, the Hangmen, and our Coolest Song in the World this week from Palmyra Delran.

Come find out what Howln’ Wolf, Bonnie Bramlett, and Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon have in common.

It’s the coolest TV shows ever on the coolest Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio ever.

Yeah-Baby! Those fast-moving, rapid-grooving, T.V. cameras seemed to fit right in with the increasingly cool groups & songs on the T.V. So glad to have been there to enjoy it. 1st-Thank You once again, Little Steven, for another 5 star show that really deserves 6 stars for the music, alone, as well as the very cool education. My computer was down the night this show was broadcast so I was elated to finally see it up on the archives & had to play it twice in order to give it it's due. That Jack Good sounded like quite the character. Starting off set 1 with a great anecdote re: Bo Diddley stiffing Dick Clark just like Jim Morrison would do in 1967. Thank God For Shindig! Great tunes-Just Like Me by Paul Revere & The Raiders, It Won't Be Wrong-Byrds, Epistle To Dippy by Donovan-"Looking Thru Crystal Spectacles, I Can see you had your fun". Really Now, Mr. Leitch? Finishing off the Shindig set with Little Latin Lupe Lu as done by Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, who I saw at The Mountain Park Ballroom in Holyoke, Mass. in August, 1966, & at The Salem Armory in Salem, Mass. in September, 1966. They were excellent both times. I had forgotten that The Righteous Bros. were the ones who actually wrote it but Mitch's version blew theirs out of the water. FOR SURE!! Set 2. Exceptional tunes included I'm A Loser by The Beatles, Conin' Home by Delaney & Bonnie WITH Mr. Eric Clapton, How Many More Years by Howlin' Wolf who was very proudly introduced by Mr. Brian Jones On Shindig, which was SO VERY COOL. I remember THAT show! Ending the set with The Rolling Stones doing Empty Heart. Set 3. Ready Steady Go! set. Great sound byte about those Go-G0 Girls who were "Always Reckless & Willing"! Yeah-Baby! Kicking off the set with Anyway You Want It by The Dave Clark Five where we were once again reminded of how very cool & wise Mr. Dave Clark was to secure the rights for all of The Ready Steady Go shows. Great Shows that really captured the excitement of the new music & the new groups. What a Visionary, Mr. Dave Clark! The very cool Going To A Go-Go by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles from 1965. The incredible Over Under Sideways Down by the Yardbirds with Jeff Beck, the very cool new Tripwire by Suzi Chunk, and closing the exciting set with I'm Alive by The Hollies. Set 4. Excellent coolest song of the week with You're My Brian Jones by Palmyra Delran who you labeled "The Lucille Ball Of Rock N' Roll", I Want You by The Troggs, Time Bomb by The Ramones & very appropriately followed by & closing the set with Teenage Ramone by The Monster Ones. Set 5. The Big Beat! Very nice sound byte by Mr. Alan Freed himself. It's too bad that they only aired 2 shows. I never saw those. Long Tall Sally by Little Richard from 1956, cool new stuff by The Hangmen with Homesick Blues, excellent girl group sound of the Angels with I Adore Him, & All For The Love Of Rock 'N Roll by The Tuff Darts. I feel compelled to comment on the musical bed that closed both the set & the show, which was The Tornados with Shootin' Beavers. Now I must say that I can think of a heck of a bunch of things to do to beavers but I better not. I'll keep them to myself & have youse figure them out by using your imagination. It should'nt take too much thinking on your part. Anyway, thank you once again, Stevie for yet another excellent show. I feel that I was very lucky to have grown up at a time when all of these great shows were on the tube. There sure ain't nothing like it now, is there? But at least we always have The Underground Garage, thanks to you , Stevie! Till next time, take care all you groovy people & hey could you please move from in front of the T.V. 'cause Mr. Howlin' Wolf is on Shindig!!! For All who live IN & For The Underground Garage, Peace Be With You! Sincerely, EEYAHH!! SMRZ!!!
