Hey baby, Little Steven here.
Who was the wildest record producer of all time?
Andrew Loog Oldham? Maybe
Phil Spector? Maybe
Make your own choice and tune in as we celebrate not only the craziest producer of all time, but the great film Easy Rider, and a special tribute to one of my favorite actors Harry Dean Stanton.
Joining us will be the Who, Steppenwolf, Moby Grape, the Pretty Things, the Knickerbockers, the Band, and the Ramones.
Very cool new stuff from Moonlight Towers, the Sails, Make Out, and what is a Underground Garage show without a little Stupidity.
It’s the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio, right here on the coolest radio station in town.
I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Set3 rocks and its tight, real good after a blast down the highway on the bike. Don't do it by the Band cool stuff.
Thanks Stevie
Always one of the *great* shows, especially for the spotlight shone on the troubled genius of Joe Meek, who I'd never even heard of before the original incarnation of this installment. I was a little disappointed that you didn't include "Staircase Stomp" by The Deadbeat Poets this time --- yeah, it's no longer "new", but is one of the best "modern" records ever played in The Underground Garage (that organ solo --- WOW!),and a shining example of lyrical efficiency, covering JM's life pretty well in under four minutes. Want to hear it back in the JM set next year, and every year! Other high-points: The evolution of the "meltdown" guitar-tone, and The Byrds' "Wasn't Born to Follow" in the "Easy Rider" set --- gotta love "Motorcycle Irene", too!
I wanted more JOE MEEK!
I still say this is the best radio program on the air, thanks Steven
as always great show.greater 2nd set!!!!
i agree that joe meek is not as highly regarded as some other "better" known producers but well worth the acknowledgement. thanks LS!!! always an inspiration!! you AND joe!!!
Total Koolness...Yeah...Staircase Stomp & More Joe...But Still Fab!!! THX LS!!!
Thank the Gods (I don't play favorites) for Little Steven's Underground Garage! Just keep it coming!
wow, they really keep changing the underground web page.
You used to be able to click on live links on the playlist, but they took those away, bummer.
Another five star show, to be sure, Little Steve!! I especially loved Set 2 with Joe Meek. Wow! Telstar! Flushing the toilet and playing it backwards? True Genuis!! Also loved The Freakbeat set. I've heard of Heinz but not of the others like Blue Rondo and the Buzz. great Stuff!! Also enjoyed the segment on Harry Dean Stanton. A very underrated actor for sure. Love that Repo Code from Repo Man. One of my fav 80's flicks!! EEEYAHHH!!!
Great Joe Meek segment, I knew Joe Meek very well, and managed a group that recorded with him in 1966, what memories of a great man.
