Hey baby, Little Steven here with our weekly Underground Garage pop quiz.
What was the first Rock n’ Roll record?
You think about that, because we are going to talk about it this weekend among other extraordinarily important subjects.
As usual, we are joined by the greatest musicians of all time including, the Beatles, Howlin’ Wolf, the Yardbirds, the Ramones, and Ike & Tina Turner.
We have the best new music in the world from the Insomniacs out of New Jersey, the Dahlmanns from Oslo, Norway, and Bun E. Carlos has another new group he is going to introduce us to.
Tune into find out what Robert Johnson, Herman’s Hermits, and Little Eva have in common. It’s the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio, baby.
I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Joe Jackson in the garage!! A first?? right after a classic Tony and Paulie axchange. Been a fan from day one. nothing compares!
Such an awesome show. We need more shows like this on the radio. If we did, maybe more people would continue to listen to radio. Again such a COOL COOL COOL show!
Unable to play part two on my iPad can some one explain to me why, is there something else we have to do.
Netherlands 474
aren't u the same Dougherty from that British outfit.....?
This seems to have been a new episode.
this one of the all time classic episodes. especially the bit about robert johnson! happy b-day robert!!! you look pretty young for 100!!!
did u mean it's an old one?
Yes , it is one of the best episodes but their all so good i hate to rate them. Thanks, Steven
Excellent show! But how can you go wrong when you start out with The Easybeats?
Steven, if he hasn't already, should really check out The Fleshtones' new album, "Brooklyn Sound Solution." The whole disc features Lenny Kaye. Plus they have a rocking b-side, "Remember The Ramones."
I finished 473 just before loading into this one. What a trip! I feel like I am in school here and I love it, man! Stuff I'm acknowledging, corrected on and learning at the same time! Lots of wows coming from MY computer station! Just a note, though: Social Distortion was listed but not played...Set 2. ALSO: Too bad no commentary on the Verve Pipe's battle with Andrew Loog Oldham and Alan Klein...or the connections with the Rolling Stones therein.
Other than THAT, I am so drained from the LESSONS herein, I sleep like a baby....
So intense, indeed!
No commentary on the Verve Pipe is needed. Simply ALO taught them a lesson on plagiarism!
I click on the recent Ramones show and I get Dylan. Am I doing something wrong?
