Show 408 - IT'S ANDREW'S BIRTHDAY! 2010

Air Date:

Monday, 25 January 2010

Hey baby, Little Steven here with our weekly Underground Garage Pop Quiz.

Who was the guy that invented bad publicity?

Who was the guy who discovered, publicized, managed, and produced the coolest Rock n’ Roll band in the world that is still performing?

Dick Cheney? No…

Rush Limbaugh? No…

Glenn Beck? No…

It’s Andrew Loog Oldham, and it’s his birthday this week, and we are celebrating with the Crystals, Dion, the Turtles, the McCoys, the Yardbirds, Rod Stewart, and yeah, the Rolling Stones.

That was the band I was talking about.

Fabulous brand new stuff from all over the world: Prima Donna from California, Len Price 3 from England, the Raveonettes from Denmark, the Verbs form New York City, and the Doughboys from that very exotic place called New Jersey.

If it’s a Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio, it must be the Underground Garage.

I’ll see you this weekend.

The first two songs of set four are lsited incorrectly... They should be the Dollyrots' "California Beach Boy" and the Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Nice ?" instead of teh Pigeon Detectives' "Making Up Numbers" and Donovan' "Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth"...

By the way, I forgot... Donovan's "Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth" is played in set 1, but not listed...
