The Wiseguy Show

on Monday, 30 July 2012.

The Wiseguy Show, a weekly three-hour celebration of Italian-American culture. Veteran actor Vincent Pastore, best known for his role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on the HBO-TV series The Sopranos, is the host of the program along with John “Cha Cha” Ciarcia (Sopranos, Goodfellas, AKA The Magic of Mulberry Street), Joe “Joey Rags” “Uncle Joe” Rigano (Casino, Analyze This, Coffee and Cigarettes), Musical Director – Floyd “Uncle Floyd” Vivino (Host of his own television show off and on for 25 years), announcer and second banana, Joe “Brooklyn’s own” Causi (legendary DJ on New York Oldies Station CBS-FM).

Each week on The Wiseguy Show, Pastore interviews prominent guests from the Italian-American community. Pastore also discusses current events, review movies, perform skits, give sex advice, and interacts with SIRIUS listeners. The show’s divided into eight segments. Each with it’s own interstitial theme song. 1. What the Hell Happened This Week? (A discussion of current events) 2. What’s Your Beef? (Call in complaints from listeners about life) 3. Movies, We’ve Got Movies (Movie reviews) 4. Trivial Prosciutt (Call in test of Italian based trivia) 5. Joe Rigano’s Sportsbook (Joe Rigano talks sports. Call ins) 6. Guess The Wiseguy (Listeners call in game guessing the actor from a film clip) 7. The Mighty Pussy Art Players (The Wiseguys (act out) a children’s fable) 8.   Meatball Serenade ( Remote restaurant review)

In addition to the regular segments, there are usually three guests (Peter Falk, Sylvester Stallone, Nancy Sinatra, Dion, Deana Martin, Frankie Valli, Danny DeVito, Tony Danza, Dennis Leary, John Pinette, Chazz Palminteri, cast of the Jersey Boys, Stephen Baldwin, among others).

Of course, no show about Italian-Americans would be complete without music from such notables as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Al Martino, Jerry Vale and other classic crooners, and they’re all included in The Wiseguy Show.

Pastore has appeared in a number of blockbuster movies and TV programs, including Carlito’s Way, Basketball Diaries, Gotti, Mickey Blue Eyes, Hurricane, Serving Sara and Witness to the Mob. Musician, actor and SIRIUS creative consultant “Little” Steven Van Zandt serves as Executive Producer of The Wiseguy Show. Van Zandt portrayed Silvio Dante on The Sopranos. Award-winning New York radio personality Joe “Supreme Cugine” Causi produces the show.
