GretchenAnne@IvoryPearlMusic.com ~ read me at IvoryPearlMusic.com ~ I love you, by the way...but I met Bruce when we we 16 together in Asbury Park...long story....
Looks like a great night with Palmyra Delran, Gary U.S. Bonds etc, wish I could join!!
Can't believe I am on the guest list!!! Trying to revamp a work week to make it happen...
I NEVER win anything.
In fact, I DIDN'T win anything.
My spouse did. Two tickets to the 10th Anniversary Party, no less.
So this afternoon, feeling slightly apprehensive, I recalled the time I visited The Stone Pony to see Joe Grushecky and the Iron City Houserockers.
That night L.P. (on her way to becoming a singer-songwriter superstar, and well she deserves it) tried to pick up my spouse.
Tomorrow night, is Little Steven going to hit on my wife? (I know HIS lovely spouse massages his feet after he's been shot and he's on death's door in some New Jersey hospital, but my own spouse is very cool. I'm NOT swapping.)
I'm currently in the midst of grading thirty-one senior-English research papers, and now I've got to figure out how to get to the Times-Square Hard Rock Cafe by 6:30 p.m. tomorrow. This is tough, having my very cool spouse win two tickets to the 10th Anniversary Party.
I guess I'll deal with it.
That Stone-Pony anecdote, above, is wholly apocryphal, and making obscure allusions to the concluding episodes of THE SOPRANOS is no way to win friends. You would do well to grade your essays and shaddap you face.
Even though I missed the first 2 bands thanks to the Bolt Bus being 3 hours late (on a 3.5 hour trip!), it was a great show, thanks! I do wish Steven had played...or that I could have weaseled my way into the VIP section to shake his hand and say thanks.
