Hey baby, Little Steven here.
Who is the unsung hero of all those cool records you’ve been playing on the jukebox down at the malt shop?
That’s right, the arranger, and we’re saluting one of the coolest arrangers in Rock n’ Roll history, Jack Nitzsche, this week in the Underground Garage.
Joining us will be the Searchers, the Crystals, Mink DeVille, the Monkees, the Turtles, and Tina Turner.
Brand new music from Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, the Deadbeat Poets, the Dahlmanns, Ringo Starr, Alabama 3, Tab the Band, and Genya Ravan.
Come find out what Soupy Sales, Jackie DeShannon and Crazy Horse have in common.
It’s the only Rock n’ Roll dance party on the radio. I’ll see you this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Always love the tributes to Jack Nitzsche --- the Wall of Sound might've been Phil Spector's brainchild, but JN is the guy who built it "brick by brick"! A BIG thank you to Little Steven for honoring JN --- y'know, until I started listening to LSUG, I always thought that "I was the only one", a guy whose taste in rock'n'roll runs to the "ragged and raw", mostly, but also having a seemingly incongruous love for the glorious high-gloss polish of the "girl group" stuff, as well. "It's all about the *drama*", and nobody did that better than Nitzsche and company --- "little three-minute symphonies for kids", indeed! :-D
